What IPTV Smarters Pro Is — and Is Not
IPTV Smarters Pro is a free IPTV player application available on Android, iOS, Amazon Fire TV, and selected Smart TV platforms. Its role is straightforward: it reads your IPTV subscription credentials — either an M3U playlist URL or a set of Xtream Codes login details — and organises your channels into a navigable interface with live TV, an Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), a VOD library, a series section, and catch-up TV where your provider supports it.
What it is not: an IPTV subscription. The app is the player — the interface through which you access content. Your subscription credentials, issued by your IPTV provider, are what give you access to the actual channels and content. Downloading and Installing on Your Device
- Android phone or tablet: Search "IPTV Smarters Pro" in Google Play. The app is free with no mandatory in-app purchases required for full core functionality. Install and open.
- Amazon Fire TV Stick: On your Fire TV home screen, select the search icon and type "IPTV Smarters Pro". The app is officially listed in the Amazon App Store — no sideloading or developer mode required. Install directly and open.
- iPhone or iPad: Search "IPTV Smarters Pro" in the Apple App Store. The iOS version provides the same core functionality as Android, including M3U, Xtream Codes, EPG, VOD, and series support.
- Samsung Smart TV: Open the Samsung App Store, search for IPTV Smarters, and install. Note that Smart TV app support varies by firmware version — if the app is unavailable for your model, a Fire TV Stick or Android TV box connected to your TV is a reliable alternative.
Once installed, open the app. You will see the home screen with a large "Add User" button. This is the entry point for all credential setup — whether you are adding an M3U playlist or Xtream Codes login.
Step-by-Step: Adding Your Playlist via M3U URL
Your provider will send you an M3U URL — a web address that points to your personalised playlist file. This URL contains your unique credentials embedded in the address itself, which is why copying it exactly is critical.
Tap "Add User" on the home screen
The home screen shows any previously added playlists and a prominent Add User button. Tap it to begin the setup process.
Select "Load Your Playlist or File/URL"
Two options appear: the M3U/File/URL option and the Xtream Codes option. Choose "Load Your Playlist or File/URL" for M3U setup.
Name the playlist and paste your M3U URL
Give the playlist a recognisable name — your provider's name works well. Then paste your complete M3U URL into the URL field. Copy it directly from the message your provider sent — do not attempt to type it manually, as even a single incorrect character or missing symbol will prevent the playlist from loading.
Tap "Add User" and wait for loading to complete
The app contacts your provider's server, fetches your channel list, and begins loading EPG data. For large playlists containing many thousands of channels, this initial load can take between 60 and 120 seconds. Do not close the app or interrupt the loading process. Once complete, your playlist appears on the home screen.
Step-by-Step: Adding Your Playlist via Xtream Codes
Xtream Codes is a direct server connection format, as distinct from a static playlist file URL. If your provider offers Xtream Codes credentials alongside M3U, using Xtream Codes is the recommended option — it provides faster subsequent playlist loads, integrates the full VOD library and series section directly into Smarters Pro, and enables catch-up TV support when your provider includes it.
Tap "Add User" then select "Login with Xtream Codes API"
This opens three input fields: Server URL (sometimes labelled "Host"), Username, and Password.
Enter your server address including the port number
The server URL must include the port number your provider specifies — for example, http://yourprovider.com:8080. If you enter the domain without the port, the connection will fail even if the credentials themselves are correct.
Enter your username and password exactly as provided
These credentials are case-sensitive. Enter them exactly as your provider sent them, with no added spaces before or after. Copy-paste from your provider message wherever possible to avoid transcription errors.
Tap "Add User" to connect and load
The app authenticates against your provider's panel and imports your live channel list, VOD categories, series, and EPG schedule. This initial import is typically faster than M3U loading. Once complete, four navigation tabs appear at the bottom: Live TV, Movies, Series, and Catch-Up.
M3U connections typically display Live TV only. Xtream Codes connections unlock the full Movies, Series, and Catch-Up sections within Smarters Pro, and reload faster on subsequent app launches. If your provider sends you both formats, choose Xtream Codes for daily use.
Navigating the Interface Day to Day
Once your playlist is loaded, the main live TV screen displays your channel categories as a scrollable list on the left panel. Tapping any category reveals the channels within it. Tapping a channel name begins playback immediately in the main viewing area. During playback, a single tap on the screen reveals the control bar — this shows the current channel name, the EPG programme name and time slot, and left/right arrow buttons for moving to adjacent channels without returning to the category list.
The EPG Guide is accessible via the Guide button displayed during playback, or through the TV Guide tab in the app's main navigation. The guide shows your channel list alongside a horizontal programme schedule for each channel. You can navigate forward in time to browse upcoming content, and tap any programme entry to see its description and, where catch-up is supported, access its recording if it has already aired.
The search function — accessible via the magnifying glass icon — searches across your entire channel list simultaneously, regardless of which category a channel belongs to. For large playlists with thousands of channels across dozens of categories, search is significantly faster than manually browsing category by category when you know the name of a specific channel.
Keeping EPG Data Current
EPG data is loaded automatically on initial connection. For Xtream Codes connections, EPG is pulled continuously from your provider's panel and stays current without manual intervention. For M3U connections, EPG is either embedded in the M3U URL itself or needs to be configured as a separate XMLTV data source. If your M3U connection shows empty or missing programme guide data, go to Settings → Manage Playlist → select your playlist → EPG URL, and enter the XMLTV source URL your provider supplies.
To refresh EPG manually at any time, navigate to Settings, select your active playlist, and tap the Update EPG or Reload EPG option. For most users, setting an automatic EPG update in the app's general settings — typically found under Settings → General → EPG Update Time — provides the most reliable guide data without requiring any manual maintenance. A nightly automatic update at a low-usage time, such as 3 AM, ensures your programme guide is always current when you sit down to watch.

Tips for Getting the Best Performance
- Use a wired ethernet connection wherever possible. On Fire TV Stick, a USB-C ethernet adapter costs very little and eliminates Wi-Fi signal variability — the most common cause of brief buffering during live sports and HD streams.
- Increase the buffer size in player settings. Under Settings → Player Settings, increasing the buffer time to 5–10 seconds reduces brief interruptions caused by momentary network fluctuation without visibly impacting the viewing experience.
- Remove outdated playlists. Multiple large playlists slow Smarters Pro's startup time significantly. Keep only your currently active subscription in the app and delete any expired or unused playlists.
